About Me

I'm joining Service Space because ... Losing my sense of "self" through service is what inspires me to dig deeper and serve more. The people in this space, through their incredible acts of service, are a huge source of inspiration for my own service journey!

A good day to me is when ... I can touch someone's life, in some small way, and make them smile from within :)

My hero in life is ...All the people around the world doing small acts of goodness, right where they are right now. Because ultimately, it is these small acts that together will change the world.

My favorite book is ...Journey books like Siddhartha and Tuesdays with Morrie, Books on raising mindful children like Raising Happiness and books about going within like The Power of Now

One thing I'm grateful for is ... When I can tap into that place, deep inside of me, from which I can do things with a pure heart.

Coordinator for HelpOthers To encourage anonymous acts of kindness, we started a fun game of tag -- do a selfless act for someone, and leave a card behind telling them to pay it forward. A million smile cards have been shipped anonymously without any charge through our site, members have shared 20,000 kindness stories as a part of "SmileGroups." Our weekly e-newsletter with top picks of kindness stories has grown to over 80,000 subscribers in a short time.

ServiceSpace Operations Team

At-Large ServiceSpace is an all volunteer-run organization that leverages technology to inspire greater volunteerism. It's a space to explore our own relationship with service and our interconnection with the rest of the world. ServiceSpace allows our inherent generosity to blossom out into small acts of service for the community around us. It's a space to learn how outer change is closely tied to our own inner transformation. It's about changing ourselves, to change the world.

Awakin Calls

Guest Moderator Every week, we have a global conference call to share insights and inspiration from various leaders, ladders and everyday heroes from around the ServiceSpace ecosystem. Typically, the call opens with a circle of sharing, then features a guest speaker and is followed by dynamic Q&A around the emergent themes.

Karma Kitchen

London What started as an experiment run by a team of volunteers each week, has now served over 34,000 guests through the pay-it-forward model. Guests continue to pour-in each week mainly through word-of-mouth, to enjoy the community ambiance. With over 21,600 hours of volunteer contributions, volunteers in other cities were inspired to start their own Karma Kitchen. In addition to Berkley, you can now also enjoy the delicious meals made with love in Washington DC, and Chicago.
