A Couple Days Earlier, Arathi Hosted ...

Apr 27, 2014, 12 smiles A couple days earlier, Arathi hosted a beautiful circle for 20 people in her living room in DC. As you'd expect, conversations revolved around the spirit of Gift in our communities and how seemingly small actions can unlock it. One of the folks present, David was moved by what emerged and decided to go out the next day on the streets to gift rides to people! As Arathi was showing Ashima and me the different sights in the city, we randomly bumped into David, smiling away on his 'Pedicab' explaining how people were so shocked to receive his gift on the streets! Sure enough, we hopped on and were taken on a lovely ride in the city :) Can't wait to share the story with Udaybhai Rickshawala back in Ahmedabad!

Mar 28, 2014, 1 comments, 6 smiles A few months ago, we were all moved to see this graphic sent in by someone who was touched by Nimo's Being Kind video. I was reminded of it when I received an email from Anna, a beautiful soul in Delhi who came across a homeless man - Saeed Ji on the streets in Delhi. As she spoke to him, the light in his eyes revealed that he had a lot to offer. She took out some time to sit by him and engage in a conversation on what it means to be human. Here's the reflections from her conversation, that we're grateful to have on the Moved By Love blog :)

A Video: The Gift

Birju Just Addressed Our Startup Service ...

Feb 15, 2014, 1 comments, 19 smiles Birju just addressed our Startup Service audience in India! Not only did Birju move us with his eloquent words around the intersection of business and compassion, it was the first time that we have Skyp'd in a guest from another part of the planet. Felt like the spirit of Jai Jagat. :)

Incredible Gandhi 3.0 Retreat In Ahmedabad

Feb 03, 2014, 12 comments, 21 smiles Some of your might've read the invitation to our "Gandhi 3.0" retreat.  About sixty people from around the world came together in Ahmedabad to explore modern manifestation of Gandhian values. Incredible time together.  We're still compiling the stories and the many ripples, but in the meantime, here are some videos and photos.  Lots of gratitude to so many of you who paved the way for such a gathering to emerge.

Jan 09, 2014, 9 smiles Just a few hours to initiate, setup and run a Karma Kitchen? Not a problem at all, when you have 35 beautiful souls who had come together for the Giftival 2014 in Cochin, in South India. Some incredible stories here :)

Had A Big Smile On My ...

Dec 06, 2013, 2 comments, 8 smiles Had a big smile on my face when I came across this article about the new Pope. Apparently, he's been sneaking out of the Vatican to go do some acts of kindness on the street :) Especially loved this quote by him, "“How can it be that it is not a news item when an elderly homeless person dies of exposure, but it is news when the stock market loses two points?” More here

Moved By Love Ladders Retreat

Nov 11, 2013, 3 comments, 19 smiles Just after the Diwali of 2013, 50 'Ladders' from across the cities of India and the world gathered together for three days; After a year of hosting 11 retreats at the ESI campus, we had all tangibly begun to see the results of offering ourselves completely to the guest who chose to walk in through the door, or every person who held the mic and decided to share his vulnerabilities with the circle. The ripples from the circle have already been set into motion ... more photos and stories.

Oct 12, 2013, 13 smiles An update from our dear friends who decided to go up to the mountains of North India and serve in the flood affected region of Uttarakhand. A beautiful blog from Ashima, on what Service has begun to mean, and a picture of Pratyush being useful in the kitchen :) We now have a role for him at the next Retreat!
