Jan 12, 2015, 4 comments, 19 smiles Yesterday evening, a bunch of us had the privilege of attending the screening of Moin Khan's documentary - " Rediscovering Pakistan" which traces the journey of 12 American bike riders who joined Moin in exploring the stunning terrain of Pakistan! Moin Khan was a guest on Awakin Call and is currently touring the US sharing his message of love everywhere he goes. He is a person who believes that if your intention is pure, you can make anything happen. He walks his talk and has ridden across 26 countries on his bike, opened a school for girls in a village in Pakistan and is planning to ride a horse across Mongolia and cycle from North to South Pakistan. What strikes the most on meeting him is his passion, his humility and genuineness!! We love you Moin!! Moin is planning to attend screenings and talk to people as he travels throughout the US! He will be in UC Berkeley on 20th of Jan! To check his schedule, please visit his facebook page.

Sep 22, 2014, 14 smiles Nimo and Jose were in Portland and I was fortunate enough to attend a couple of events and enjoy Nimo's lovely songs - straight from his genuine heart!! The audience was touched and there were hugs being exchanged. It was wonderful to meet Jose Ramon who is making a living by giving!! After the second event, there was a impromptu lunch gathering at one of Portland's many vegan restaurants. We all felt like we have know each other for a loooong time :) God bless noble friendships!!
Aug 17, 2014, 1 comments, 12 smiles Because of our wonderful nominations for Awakin Call guests from across the ecosystem, our upcoming queue is usually five to six months! Thank you, all. Yesterday, we got this note from one of the nominees: "I am not totally sure I'd be a good fit for an Awakin Call. I'd actually like to be on one of these calls or hear a recording. Is there a way I could do that?" One of our coordinators wrote a thoughtful reply that speaks the essence of Awakin Calls ... It would be great to have you join an Awakin call. You can do that any week -- just RSVP here any Saturday that you're open and/or available and you'll be emailed the instructions. And you can also access the audio recordings of archives anytime as well. Of course, every week is different, partially because of the guest, but partially also because of the different volunteer host and moderator. ... Read Full Story
Jul 26, 2014, 1 comments, 10 smiles As most of you may have heard, we just had a really inspiring Awakin Call with Amit this morning. In the early circle of sharing, Ashish shared and gave the line to Anha and this is what she shared: There were so many that wanted to share on the call, that we couldn't get to everyone. But there was one particular recording from Amit's grandma that we wanted to share in particular: (Rough translation: this is a story of a fellow who was telling God how it's easy to him -- just stand there as an idol and experience the love of so many. Given this deep faith, God then graces the devotee with an opportunity to have that experience. In that mode of being like an idol, the devotee sees a businessman drop his wallet -- but he couldn't say anything to him. Then he sees someone steal the wallet, but again ... Read Full Story
Mar 15, 2014, 2 comments, 7 smiles We've been on a roll with Awakin Calls recently. Moin Khan was my personal favorite of all time, then we had Nipun as our most popular call, and the momentum is continuing to build up. Below is our incredible line-up for the coming months, including a man who was knighted by the Queen for his remarkable service work in the UK, our own Pultizer-Paul who is teaching in St. Louis, a youngster from rural India who has worked in over 600 villages, musician David Frances who grew up playing on subway stations in Chicago, CEO of a publicly traded tech company, leading neuroscientist from Stanford, a Sufi artist, former Engineering PhD who is now teaching yoga to prison populations, Michelle Long who pioneered the local business movement in the US and more. We're so grateful to have such a diverse roster of accomplished people agree to join our Awakin Calls platform. Thank you, all, for holding space for these authentic conversations -- and hope to see you on the calls!
