Homeless Street Kids Wows Korea

Aug 18, 2011 I just saw this news story on latin tv - it's unbelievable: A recent video segment of Korea's Got Talent racked up more than 11.6 million hits on YouTube, when it featured a shy orphan boy who lived on the streets for many years, stunning an audience with his amazing singing voice on national television.

Stellar Testimonial From David Spangler

Aug 08, 2011 Sometime last week, we saw a big spike in the number of new subscribers on DailyGood -- 171 in 24 hours.  We were wondering what was going on, when Alan Z. sent us a newsletter by David Spangler.  David is an author, a clairvoyant, and one of the founding figures of the modern New Age movement (although he is highly critical of what much of the movement has since become, especially its commercialistic and sensationalist elements).  He was one of the original people at Findhorn in Scotland, back in the early '70s, and helped create the Lindisfarne Fellowships, which subsequently included various luminaries like EF Schumacher, James Lovelock, Paul Hawken, Joan Halifax and many others.  His Lorain newsletter perhaps gave one of the most stellar testimonials to two of our sites (which he may not even realize are connected) ...Some months ago I stumbled across a website which I have ... May 02, 2011 In April, DailyGood hit its highest traffic in 20 months.  Thanks to our savvy new website design, the new social media features, and a team of dozen editors (led by Audrey!) that have helped us step up the quote-pack quality.  The most viral quote-packs of 2011 thus far -- Human Spirit Rises to Meet the Tsunami with over 900 FaceBook likes while last week's Nursery Rhymes Bring Down the House with 1800 shares. :)

Apr 30, 2011 Some CF fans run a company in the Middle East.  Today they wrote, "We have been chewing on how we could impact the Middle East and the current tensions that are brewing -- when a thought crossed my mind.  Why not launch an Arabic version of DailyGood for the Middle East? There is a crying need for a shift here to a deeper level and nothing better than positivity reinforced on a daily basis.  Let us know your thoughts."   Brainstorming has begun. :)

Apr 28, 2011 I recently read "The China Study" (taken from the "China-Oxford-Cornell Study on Dietary, Lifestyle and Disease Mortality Characteristics in 65 Rural Chinese Counties", or China Project), a survey that studied the relationship between mortality rates and the dietary, lifestyle, and environmental factors of some 6,500 people in 65 mostly rural counties in China. Described by The New York Times as "the Grand Prix of epidemiology", it was conducted jointly by Cornell University, the University of Oxford, and the Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine over the course of twenty years. The authors (Campbell) conclude that people who eat a whole plant food/vegan diet, which avoids animal proteins (meat, dairy and eggs), will minimize or reverse the development of chronic western diseases (heart disease, diabetes, cancer, etc). "This is one of the most important books about nutrition ever written -- reading it may save your life." Dean Ornish, M.D.
