Gracias A La Vida

Jul 01, 2019, 1 comments, 16 smiles At last week's Awakin Circle in Warsaw, we had lots of surprises -- starting with having Jin Wei and Nipun from California! We closed the circle with a gorgeous song, Gracias a La Vida, sung by Anna. Growing up with many challenges, living in a basement while raising two kids, Anna was barely staying afloat with life's constant demands. Yet, music was her passion and her refuge. One day, she spontaneously heard a beautiful song from the inner recesses of her mind. Or maybe from elsewhere. She was deeply mesmerized by it, but before she could fully hear it, the song left her. She prayed for the song to return, but to no avail. Still, she kept praying to be an instrument for that song and vibration. Eight months later, she heard it again. This time, in full. Here she is closing our Awakin circle with that song ... During the couple days of local ServiceSpace activities, Anna experienced repeated goosebumps, tears, and joy -- as she selflessly served alongside all of us.

Yesterday's Awakin Circle In Warsaw

Nov 05, 2018, 2 comments, 14 smiles Following our Awakin Festival last month, we hosted our monthly Awakin Circle yesterday. We were so delighted that half of the 15 people in attendance were new! Together, we enjoyed silence, exploring inspiring reading about conscious relationships, pumpkin cake, Indian Dhal, fruits and hugs! :-) And we discovered a beautiful sentence by the Buddha: “Generosity brings happiness at every stage of its expression. We experience joy in forming the intention to be generous. We experience joy in the actual act of giving something. And we experience joy in remembering the fact that we have given.”

An Awakin Festival In Warsaw!

Oct 18, 2018, 2 comments, 18 smiles Over the last weekend in Poland, our local Awakin Team planted so many seeds of joy and love in Warsaw. It started with a public talk, then it was followed by a 9-hour Awakin Festival, and then a full-day Karma Kitchen at one of the best vegan restaurants in the city. My heart is still rejoicing with such sweetness and joy, from our days together! Such a blessing beyond words. Below is a photo from last October, after which few of us ended up having a spontaneous conversation at the door. That seed combined with the untiring laddership of monk Jin Wei, we started Awakin Circles in Warsaw. And last couple days, with Nipun's visit, gave us a tremendous opportunity to build on that momentum within our local community. As Jasky, our secret weapon from France, :) said, "The weekend felt like one big lesson in skillful means for reaching hearts, on ... Read Full Story

Thank you, all, for the constant inspiration.] Awakin Circle in Warsaw, 21st of March 2018, Warsaw, Poland Five volunteers were eagerly looking forward to their first Awakin Circle, an evening of meditation and community. Girls set up the table ahead of time: vegan sweets made from coconut and millet, mango mousse, carrot cake, fruits, holy basil rose tea. Everything made with loving hearts in ... Read Full Story
