Oct 27, 2014, 7 comments, 11 smiles We often talk about offline connections being powered by online networks, but many times it can work the other way around. Earlier this month, a bunch of online KindSpringers decided to have their own in-person gathering. They called it LLOTL -- Lovely Ladies of the Light! And one of them posted a beautiful poem as well ... Our minds connected Before our presence ever did So when we saw each other's smiles And hugged each other close, It was a coming home Of hearts Reunited in love. Light poured from our Windowed eyes Illuminating the collective soul. Blessed and grateful We shine brighter The kindness way. Blessings of reuniting, my friends.
Oct 24, 2014, 3 comments, 15 smiles A very touching note this morning, from a woman in Michigan, requesting 200 Smile Cards: "I would like to have these cards passed out at my funeral (hopefully not dying anytime soon but making plans just in case) I will have them secretly placed under each chair. I am making a video that describes how I have used them in the past and by taking this card and doing something nice for someone in my honor, in a way I will live on forever. I have put something in my living trust that states I want all Memorial Contributions to go to your organization. :)"
Oct 01, 2014, 12 smiles We received a wonderful reminder of how the small matters from a KindSpring member who order Smile Cards: "What a fantastic surprise not to be charged for the cards. I had a tear in my eye, that a stranger has done this for me! I now understand how people that I help, might feel. It feels good! Thank you. Xx"
Sep 26, 2014, 3 comments, 11 smiles On my 4 hour drive to the airport from the fabulous Service Space retreat, I had the Grateful song by Nimo rolling around in my head. When I told my "kindness chauffeur" Anne, she said "I have the CD, I'll put it in!". We listened to the CD over and over while we drove and talked. It was great! Then to top it off she gifted it to me when I left since I did not have a copy. How lovely but there is more, as it is a gift that keeps on giving! Last night on the way to softball practice with my 10 year old kindness sidekick Rachel, it was playing when I started the car. I have played the video for her before so she asked me "Isn't this one of your Smile friends?" I told her it sure was. She smiled and said "Wow he must ... Read Full Story
Sep 23, 2014, 9 smiles A beautiful post on KindSpring this morning by mindyjourney (and a beautiful graphic :)) ... The kindness that connects us Bridges all manner of gaps With compassionate trust; This online world without maps. We are the change rippling out; The pebbles dropped in a virtual ocean Enabling loving forces to be set in motion. Family is what I see in you and you in me When what we choose to help birth And encourage each other to see Is a kinder more beautiful earth. Blessings of Kind Spring, my family of friends.
Aug 12, 2014, 4 smiles KindSpringers (is that a word?) share really beautiful posts everyday -- and collectively, they can genuinely uplift anyone's spirit. Here is a post from today: "I would like to thank KindSpring and it's many members for helping me. Since joining this group I have felt more positive energy. I am feeling inspired to help myself and others think more positively. Reading some of the posts have made me realize that I am not alone out in this crazy world and that there are others out there that still stop and think about others without judging. So thank you for your kind words and generous acts."
