Jan 14, 2016, 2 comments, 9 smiles Rev Heng Sure – Service Space Retreat « MAM Movies In my archives I just discovered this very beautiful talk given in June 2012, in Phoenix, United States, as part of Service Space Retreat, Rev Heng Sure shares about his three steps and bow journey and personal insights.
Nov 16, 2015, 2 comments, 15 smiles Some of your might remember Suresh-bhai from his Awakin Call. Today, I met him and was really inspired to hear how he is taking the ServiceSpace values to the grassroots. For instance, last week, on Diwali night, he had gathered around 1200 youth in a village and spoken about the power of generosity. Together, they all even practiced 15 minutes of silence! He said that he felt the strength of the ServiceSpace ecosystem behind him -- that he tried to ripple that to the village community. I left feeling so inspired by Suresh-bhai's untiring work -- and with the hope that more of you can listen to his stories someday soon.
Oct 15, 2015, 3 comments, 27 smiles In Salt Lake City this week, we are Parliament of World Religions (Mukesh-bhai, Jayesh-bhai and myself below) at the Gandhi exhibit. So many of our ServiceSpace family from Yuka to Rev. Heng Sure to Charles Gibbs are all here, coming together to spread love and light.
Aug 20, 2015, 1 comments, 15 smiles I was recently reflecting on how many beautiful retreats have emerged, since our first one in 2010. Now we hold "Hands, Head, Heart" retreats almost every month, with waitlists for both participants and volunteers. Feeling very grateful to be doing this work of love with so many kindred spirits ...
Jul 25, 2015, 6 smiles Recently Dwarko ji had visited us in Ahmedabad. He shared about his service journey, his time with Krishnamurthi, Goenka ji and Vinoba in these two beautiful videos in English and Hindi.
Mar 23, 2015, 1 comments, 21 smiles We have been very fortunate to get the permission to post many Vinoba books online. His writing is simple, yet profound, and offers very unique insights into creating social impact without losing sight of inner transformation. Hope to see more Awakin Readings by Vinoba. :)
Mar 20, 2015, 1 comments, 29 smiles It all started with a Smile Card and my life was never the same again. ServiceSpace brought me to Dwarko ji in Bodhgaya and he then led me to Jayesh Bhai in Gandhi Ashram (in my quest to know more about Gandhi ji and Vinoba) and now life seems to have come full circle when Dwarko ji visited us in Ahmedabad and participated in MBL retreat. Full of life and enthusiasm, 93 year old Dwarko ji shared "Now I want to devote my life building collective consciousness. After years of service, I have much to learn and my heart is filled with deep love and affection to see the universal work of Gandhi and Vinoba alive in so many hearts, especially in this place (ESI) of inner and outer sanitation." As we parted we felt a deep sense of peace in his heart, as he said, "I am coming back, to work with all of you. Keep doing this work, as it is worth doing, and trust that there is a divine arrangement in every part of our life."
Jan 16, 2015, 1 comments, 12 smiles Lots of Moved By Love updates recently. SheetalBen's Bhaav Yatra (Journey of Spirit) has grown into its own website, it was nostalgic to see a like-father like-son photo of Jayesh-bhai recently, Nimo moved 400 young entrepreneurs at the Gandhi Ashram, and after our retreat last month, we are ready to do another one this month (with volunteers like Preeta, who will also be joining us). In other news, Sachi and Yash are going real strong with their "green startup" Shunya Alternatives, with recent coverage in Alternative and Live Mint! (And they're still going strong with their weekly Awakin Circles, four years since their start.) You might've read Nipun-bhai's reflections on Amitabh Bachchan visiting us last month. He came back and visited Sughad again. Yuka's prayer and Pancho's flag were very much part of that conversation. :) We're also grateful to Siddharth (and Ashima, Shaalini and Neeti) who regularly spread the good word through our monthly newsletter (that ...
