I'm joining Service Space because ... of the positive change KindSpring has encouraged in me. So very grateful and honored to have the privilege of paying it forward.
A good day to me is when ... staying mindful in each moment, Universe flows through me with perfect connection.
My hero in life is ...each and every one of us on this lovely earth; struggling, loving, living, learning, connecting.
My favorite book is ...different at different times and phases of life. Lately, enjoy best the unfolding stories of kindness on the KindSpring community feed :).
One thing I'm grateful for is ... The realization that my choice of thought, which in turn leads to action, affects not only my life, but others as well. Being in the mindful moment of NOW, I choose love, always love <3.
Nov 18, 2020, 2 smiles Make America Kind Again It was World Kindness Day, Nov. 13th, when I dropped off this letter to the editor at our local paper. I thanked them for staying open during the pandemic. A VERY conservative weekly publication that reflects the popular area demographic, it took quite a leap of courage for me to write and offer the letter for publication! Today it will be in the paper. There is a time to be silent and there is a time to have a voice. Thank you, for encouraging me to be my best self 🌎 🕊. To the editor: “A house divided against itself, cannot stand.” - Abraham Lincoln Powerful leaders, various self interest groups and certain news media have planted fabrications about how our freedoms are being challenged, driving a widening wedge of mistrust, so we’d believe we are on opposite sides of some kind of war. What? When did we begin to think that ALL ... Read Full Story
Jul 19, 2020, 1 comments, 4 smiles OMnipresent Sing From my sleep they called to me, those pinpoints of light piercing the deep. “Look up! Gather the Light into thee,” hushed the night sky. Filling my eyes with dreams being born, a cooler breeze tugged past the nearing storm. How can all seem so peaceful and calm, when world uncertainty rains? Does this forested porch umbrella more than any battling campaigns? Too many satellites traverse, stealing attention from the Milky Way. Not to drown, I must close my gaze. Heartbeat as drum, my belly inflates with air moving up to the center of me, where all is held as prayer. I am inside Van Gogh’s swirling stars, experiencing the echo of the OMnipresent sing. Truth, beauty. Beauty, truth. All is love. Love is all. There it rested. Past any vision of a starry starry night. Invigorated, I dared to request even more. Shifting to a different view, past any disbelief or doubt, it came! Blazing by as a shooting star! And I knew. Peace reigns. mj “For my part, I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of stars makes me dream.” — Vincent Van Gogh
Jul 06, 2020, 1 smiles Wrote this at a friend’s request. Sharing it is my gift to you: Dear One ❤️, Take heart. This too shall pass. Your tears will someday stop. The sun will shine again. You will one day notice that the flowers have always blessed your presence. Allow the pain to come. Let it sweep into all those dark spaces, rooting out bitter regret. Allow the Light to give wings to those feelings, freeing them. Do not let them drag you down into the slippery well of malaise and depression. This life is fraught with many trials and challenges. Face them with courage. Ask for guidance and help. Listen closely to what is said and what isn’t. Discern your own truth. Be true to you. Learn the lessons presented, or they will be presented over and over. In different formats, but essentially the same. Do not waste the lessons on needless worry and concern. Realize that they ... Apr 22, 2020, 7 comments, 9 smiles In honor of Earth Day 2020 Dear Mother forget not your children. Help us to heal you as we heal ourselves. Give us the wisdom to realize that we are indeed all ONE. Combine our actions with our hearts to make a global positive difference. Allow all beings to be in accordance with each other’s welfare. Guide us in mindfulness of the impact we make. Lighten our footprints as we learn to walk gently with you. Hold our hands, dear Mother, as we take these steps of accountability. Grant us the courage, strength, faith and mercy to follow your forgiveness in creating a better world. mj poem & photo

Some took photos with me holding quote cards. Nipunbhai came in with a kind smile. He welcomed me with outstretched hands and hugged me. I was able to speak to him 3 or 4 times. Dec 22, 2019, 8 smiles 🕊 Om Shanti Shanti Om 🙏 Wherever we journeyed in India, to all manner of people, no matter their job or standing, age or religious belief, from temples of Jain, Sikh and Hindu, to Muslim mosques, I gave origami Peace doves. My prayer for Peace is embedded in every dove I fold and give. I would smile and put the dove in a waiting outstretched hand and say, “Shanti,” truly feeling the connection of our ONEness. Each dove was received graciously. Some were held to their heart, a few were kissed, tucked directly in a pocket, hung from mirror in tuk-tuk or car, placed on the wall or cabinet handle, etc...So many given, that I had to make more as we traveled, bumping along on the bus. 🕊 Everywhere, the world over, we all basically want the same: to provide food, clean water and adequate shelter for loved ones, accessibility of education, the freedom of personal ... Dec 11, 2019, 4 smiles Wanted to share this inspiring post, written by KS member MisterMindy (my husband!) seen on the KindSpring Community Feed today with you. Just another example of KindSpringers helping to make our world a kinder one. Changing The World Through Cricket While Mindyjourney, our friend Cathie and I visited with our Kindspring friend KMBhai in Kanpur. India this past October, we spent a morning visiting with the KindWings cricket team — one of KMBhai’s social work projects to provide a healthy outlet for local boys. We presented them with a gift of new team polo shirts. These light blue shirts were welcomed by the team and after they all donned them, they looked so professional! The boys were very thrilled to have these shirts and I thought somehow that wearing these shirts would help elevate the team’s game on the field. Come to learn this week that they were just featured in a news story ... Read Full Story
Nov 26, 2019, 2 comments, 4 smiles A Simple Cup of Chai This is the tea stall in Kanpur, India, where KMBhai’s (a KindSpring and Service Space member) initiative of helping people receive what they are entitled to, under the RTI (Right to Information) Act, all began. What an honor to meet the brave tea stall owner, even got him to autograph one of the clay cups as a remembrance! We learned more about how KMBhai turned his own interaction with obtaining justice into an avenue for everyday people to do the same. After being honored with marigold and rose garlands by a few boys of KindWings (formerly known as the Mini-Library, who btw are growing up into such fine, educated young men!), we sat down in the shade and enjoyed a cup of chai. (Which MisterM learned how to make with great expertise, I must say!) There, in the moment, I decided to informally interview KMBhai about how his RTI ... Read Full Story
