I'm joining Service Space because ... of the positive change KindSpring has encouraged in me. So very grateful and honored to have the privilege of paying it forward.
A good day to me is when ... staying mindful in each moment, Universe flows through me with perfect connection.
My hero in life is ...each and every one of us on this lovely earth; struggling, loving, living, learning, connecting.
My favorite book is ...different at different times and phases of life. Lately, enjoy best the unfolding stories of kindness on the KindSpring community feed :).
One thing I'm grateful for is ... The realization that my choice of thought, which in turn leads to action, affects not only my life, but others as well. Being in the mindful moment of NOW, I choose love, always love <3.
Feb 27, 2018, 6 comments, 9 smiles Some of you might remember KindSpring user, "KMbhai" (Krishna Murari Yadav). Apart from being a long-time KS member, he also won our $100 contest back in 2013 to turbo charge his vision of a local mini library for underserved children in his rural community. Well, what started as a simple shelf of books in the alley of an impoverished village near Kanpur, India, is now providing music, sports and continuing education activities to over 100 children, and still growing. He continues to be deeply grateful to KindSpring and its vibrant community that continues to cheer him on, as mentioned on his website. If anyone exemplifies the values of KindSpring and ServiceSpace, it's KMBhai. He has devoted his life to being the positive change we are seeing in the world. He recently shared a photo of his with this caption, "Maybe obstacles can destroy our resources, harm our material things, create difficulties ... Read Full Story

Jan 24, 2017, 1 smiles Scottish Recovery Consortium | The Scottish Recovery Workbook - free download A gift from a KindSpring member: "The Scottish Recovery Workbook was created by people in recovery in Scotland for the benefit of people just starting out on their recovery journey. To celebrate the new year and the Kinder Scotland 2017 campaign we have made the document into a PDF and made it available to anyone in the world who can use it to develop their recovery from addiction. Please accept this gift with our love. Recovery is not for sale and neither is this workbook, it is our wish that it be given away freely to those who are seeking recovery from addiction or in the early stages of recovery from addiction. It would be great if you could acknowledge that the gift came to them from people in recovery from addiction in Scotland who care… Making bridges not walls between us."

Dec 26, 2016, 9 smiles From our KindSpring mailbox -- a heartfelt response to our weekly newsletter: Re: Kindness Weekly: Seeing Kindness I love this weekly report. You are wonderful, thank you. My mom is slowly dying. She is 95 and has had a wonderful life. I am blessed to have extra time with her as her Doctor gave her 7-10 days to live back in September. She had a very rough day December 23. I was down and depressed when I left her nursing home. Decided to stop at Starbucks for coffee on my way home. The person in front of me paid for my coffee. I do not believe that some people realize how much those small acts of kindness mean. No only did it make my day, but passing it forward got me off of my self pity pot. A blessed holiday season to you.
Dec 14, 2016, 10 smiles From our KindSpring mailbox, a recent testimony of the power of those SMILE cards :-). My name is Christine. I am writing you because I received your smiley cards. I belong to a group of men and women who are learning how to deal with life through sobriety! When I saw your card it did make me smile. I mean out of all things just looking at a card had that kind of impact on me, I am tremendously looking forward to handing it out to the people who really look like they can use a pic me up. One thing I have learned through sobriety is you have to smile! God Bless!!
Jul 14, 2016, 3 smiles Great article on Greater Good, to foster kindness in kids ... A recent study by Arber Tasimi, a graduate student at Yale University, and Liane Young, a professor at Boston College, found that kids who do good—and think back on it—are driven to do more and more good. As Tasimi says, “These findings show that something as simple as asking children to reflect on their past good deeds has positive effects on children’s behavior.” If we want to raise kind children, this study suggests, we can reinforce good behavior by telling stories about their past kindnesses and offering gentle reminders when they’re deciding whether to share. (And a key way to motivate good behavior in the first place, according to a 2014 study, is for parents, educators, and other trusted adults in kids’ lives to invite them to be helpers, rather than informing them they can help—so helping becomes part of their identity.)
Jun 25, 2016, 2 comments, 5 smiles These kind of posts come often and always make us smile ... :) The other day I clicked on "see memories" on Facebook and I realized that all of my old posts were so negative and bashing....and then I realized how much I've changed in these last 2.5 years since I've discovered KindSpring ... and I'm glad that I don't feed that negative side anymore -- most days (some days are harder). Thank you all for showing me how to be kind again.
