Birju Caught On Tape, At One Web Day!

1 min read
In late September, Susan Crawford invited CharityFocus to speak at the annual "One Web Day" event in New York's Washington Square Park, to collectively reflect the impact of the Internet on our lives.  With endorsement from John Edwards, their publicity material stated:
Speakers will include Jimmy Wales of Wikipedia, Andrew Baron of Rocketboom, Gale Brewer from the NYC City Council, Birju Pandya from Charityfocus.org, Dana Spiegel from NYCWireless, Lauren Klein from One Laptop Per Child, and more.
Rollin' deep with jokes et al, Birju rocked the house with his natural eloquence:

If you're curious about what prompted Susan to do this, here is her interview on Rocketboom.

Hey Birju,

Great talk...very inspiring and very clear. It's nice to hear your thoughts on the web, charityfocus, and generosity. You Rock!

Great speech Briju! I am tempted to propose that couple of dozen CharityFocus volunteers could shoot a video of themselves speaking about their experience with CharityFocus (Guri did something similar in Audio three years back for the annual retreat). A number of people on video talking about CharityFocus is a neat way to overcome the problem of Concision. Read Briju's comment on that post as well.

Good stuff Birju Bhai! It was a really succint and lively explanation of what we do. We would like to learn more about your Yahoo visits when you were 13 :)

Wow Birju! What a great speech! A step up from our karaoke singing in your apartment ( though we were going through a whole stack of happy cards there! Keep making the world smile. (:

-Will the smile cards be possible in Iraq???

-In Iraq? You can use them any where in the world sir! - Birju

Well hermano Birju, you were not only right but also prophetic. The story of Conor proves that you were right and while it wasn't lemonade, it was tea and the smile card was in the heart of the Iraqi citizen of the world.

Here is the full story two years after: A Contagiopus Love Experiment.

May all become courageous, compassionate and wise.
