Happiness is not a Pursuit - It is a Practice...

Dear Friends,
Thank you for Joining Maitri Circle this Friday.
It was a wonderful evening of togetherness, meaningful sharing, deep reflection, and above all sheer sense of Happiness!
It was one of the rare occasions where we not just spoke or discussed love, Maitri, and Happiness but actually felt in our hearts. Truly magical to receive and share those moments of smiles and warmth.
The circle opened with an insightful video that gave us a perspective on present-day struggles with the quest for Happiness.
The seed question for us to reflect upon was:
> Can Happiness be Pursued?
> How do we Cultivate Happiness in our life as one of our Skill?
These were two counterintuitive questions that brought several facets of happiness through the circle of sharing for all of us.
While Pursuit of Happiness to be one of the unalienable rights as per the American Declaration of Independence. Yet it was worthwhile to investigate – Can Happiness be truly Pursued?
A sense that we all resonate with is Happiness can certainly not be pursued by external means (something that the material world is continuously pushing us towards).
Further during the sharing, we all could also help ourselves understand that Happiness is a Choice. We can possibly create and yet not chase happiness. Happiness is a conditioning of mind – a state of mind that can be achieved through practice. Primarily the practice of not being Un-Happy. Living a mindful life where we can identify causes of unhappiness (may it be jealously, sense of scarcity, anger, greed, etc.) and rather cultivate the virtues that let happiness seamlessly flow through the veins of our life.

An interview with the world's happiest man!
As discussed, attached herewith is the link to Happiness Survey which we can take up for a quick check-in for our own Happiness Quotient.

Over next 2 weeks we commit to practice Happiness ( or undo the habits that make us unhappy) and come back to the circle to share our experiments, experiences, and learning of Practicing Happiness as Skill…
