With That Moon Language, By Hafiz

1 min read
"With That Moon Language" by Hafiz, the quirky Sufi poet :)

Admit something:
Everyone you see, you say to them, "Love me."
Of course you do not do this out loud, otherwise someone would call the cops.
Still, though, think about this: this great pull in us to connect.
Why not become the one who lives with a moon in each eye,
that is always saying,
with that sweet moon language,
what every other eye in this world is dying to hear?

Sunaina, that poem is wonderful! And quirky indeed. I love the idea that eyes could be dying to hear. :-)

PS: And it was such a pleasure to read Nipun's account of his inspiring visit to your amazing family. The ripples!

This is one of my favorite Hafiz poems. :-)

That's a terrible huddle. You got guys not knowing what play is being run, Larry Drew isn't drawing anything, and you got a bunch of different guys talking at once site traffic

Yes. That translation is Robert Bly's. Beautiful. Thank you for sharing ; )
