About Me

I'm joining Service Space because ... I can't help it! So much of what I am about in the world is what ServiceSpace is about.

A good day to me is when ... I connect with a new or old noble friend

My hero in life is ... my husband, Curt Kinkead

My favorite book is ...Stranger in a Strange Land

One thing I'm grateful for is ... the stores that donate their food to our nonprofit every day so we can feed people, especially seniors, in need in Marin

I Was Only Able To Sit ...

Jul 29, 2012, 2 comments, 3 smiles I was only able to sit in on a few minutes of the Forest Call yesterday, and just those few minutes told me that Charlie Hess is an exceptional human being, as are we all here in ServiceSpace. I do hope there is a way to hear the entire call. I have a vague recollection that these calls are posted somewhere. Looking forward to hearing from someone in the know. Thanks!

Ilonka's Hitch Hiking

Jul 07, 2012, 2 comments So sorry I missed the Forest call this morning! Some unexpected things in my world needed immediate attention. Looking forward to the audio files, and I am positive that Ilonka was extraordinary! I saw that you wanted to hear more about Ilonka's hitchhiking adventures. Here's one for you: My husband Curt picked Ilonka up a few years ago on one of his food runs out to Bolinas, and we have become great friends with her (and Sidh), Curt is now on her writing/editing/proofreading team, AND if it wasn't for Curt picking her up years ago, we would never have come across dailygood.org and servicespace. Talk about ripples! Curt and I are so totally grateful to have Ilonka in our lives. Here's a link to Positive News.

Ilonka is one of the people we've gifted to over time. She ended up writing a story about us in her Positive News paper.  DailyGood ended up featuring that story -- and I got SO many emails that day that I still haven't been able to respond to all of them yet.   Bit by bit, we learned about more of the ServiceSpace projects and I was most intrigued about Karma Kitchen. So today I took my restaurant owner friend, Sam, to visit and he is now ... Read Full Story
