May 25, 2011 @ a starbucks...a few ft away someone drops their newspaper, the fellow next me picks it up just as I was about to reach for it. A little toddler walks by, the same fellow mentions how cute he is to his mother....a few moments later, I turn to him and acknowledge him for his sensitivity with a smile. He looks @ me, & starts to share w/ me about his best friend who passed away last wk. I listen intently, he cries. I put my arm on his shoulder, we share a moment. We sit a long while & talk. I ask him his passion. It's to be a radio host...again. He describes to me his history the people he knows. I share w/him about me and how there are 2 main governing principles: 1. All u have is ur word 2. B grateful for everything. I invite him to Karma Kitchen this Sun when I'll be volunteering (what an honor). I share w/ him about my sleeping situation (spent at the 24 hr starbucks) & other warm places. He offers to let me stay at his place tonight. Hal & I are deeply grateful for "source".

May 11, 2011 These past 7 wks participating in "Heroic Journey of Humanity and You" led by Duane Elgin has been transformative on many, many levels. With many huge life shifts, many things being re-organized, all the while gleaning lessons and coming back to "practice" I was unable to post regular updates. With some major transitions near complete, weekly content & reflections will be posted every few days for those interested to read, reflect, and share. So here goes :). Rdg 1: "Humanity's promising future"  , Rdg 2: "Is Humanity Growing Up?"  Assignment.  Reflections (with links to videos) -- feel free to share your own thoughts via the "discussions" tab. :)

Mar 24, 2011 Upon acceptance of the CharityFocus Scholarship to "The Heroic Journey of Humanity", I am filled with deep gratitude.  Not just for the honor of having received this blessed opening through my brothers and sisters there, but also because this concept, or inquiry of the "Evolution of Consciousness" is of ever importance to me.  My contribution to the CF community would be to provide notes of each week’s seminar in a "synopsis" section and some personal reflections, challenges, or breakthroughs in a "reflections" section.  As we begin, I thought I would also share with you some of my core beliefs so you know at least some of the conditions informing my lens or filters.  More From Week 0 :)

Love And Be Loved -- Labor Day Smiles In New York!

Sep 10, 2010, 1 comments "An act of generosity can be a spontaneous outpouring due the heart being touched or the desire to support that which we are aligned to."    This past Saturday's Random Act of Kindness in New York was one such experiment in generosity, working through comfort zones, inside a commitment to make a difference.     Spontaneous is definitely the word for it.  Astha planted the seed on Tuesday  about wanting to organize a service event on the Labor Day weekend.  Raj and I fed the fire by inviting people to engage in their personal experiments of generosity by handing out goodies, snacks, cookies, random act of kindness suggestions, hugs, and even bangra lessons in Strawberry fields past the John Lennon Memorial in Central Park.   Serendipitously there were 7 folks for (for most, it was their first time) who accepted the invitation and ...
