One Day One Choir

Jul 05, 2018, 3 smiles One Day One Choir is an inspiring global peace initiative which uses the harmonious power of singing together to unite people around the world on Peace Day, September 21st. "Since we began in 2014 – as a response to growing unrest and conflict in the world – more than a million people, from all walks of life and a huge array of different singing groups, have joined in and sung with us in more than 50 countries. We’ve also gathered and are being helped by some wonderful supporters and collaborators. We’d love you to join in too please, to add your voices to our growing ‘global choir’ for peace and to help make a difference where you live by bringing people together in your community to sing with a focus on unity and peace and how we might find ways to work towards it – peace at home, at school, in ... 21-day Global Love Day Challenge May 1st 2018

May 04, 2018, 6 comments, 7 smiles Following on from our first successful Global Love Day challenge last year, over 70 of us from across the world came together online at Kindspring in mid April this year to celebrate Global Love Day on May 1st 2018. Inspired by The Love Foundations daily quotes we prepared for the day by setting a daily intention, practising a short meditation, and watching a daily video as a way to open up our hearts to the Love within. As is the nature of these online gatherings, we came together tentatively at first, feeling our way, no one pushing for a direction, no agenda, and to begin with many of us cloistered in our own kitchens, bedrooms or patio’s, which doesn’t lend well to the feeling of togetherness. However, there was plenty of excitement, anticipation and an expectation of potential to be fulfilled as is shown in these first few participants’ comments. “What a wonderful ... Read Full Story

Happy New Year | Surviving (With) ...

Jan 01, 2017, 2 smiles Happy New Year | Surviving (With) Cancer | @fkmunro Such a wonderfully uplifting tale of gratitude. As 2016 comes to an end so many people are saying to me "you'll be glad to see the back of this year"...but...in reality....it's not been too bad a year. Yes I got diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer in January 2016 and had chemo and MASSIVE surgery but that doesn't make it a bad…

Beach Clean

Dec 06, 2016, 1 smiles I know just how much you are all interested in extending Kindness to our wonderful Mother Earth, so I thought I’d share some great news with you which I was reminded of during a conversation with a Kindspring member. In the UK, CityToSea.org along with Surfers against Sewage have been leading a campaign to stop plastic from ending up on our beaches, and just last week they achieved a great result with many of our major Supermarkets agreeing to change from selling cotton buds with plastic sticks to selling only ones with paper sticks by the end of 2017. Up until the beginning of the month, only of these major retailers had planned to #switchthestick, (the campaigns hashtag), but through letter writing and a petition on 38Degrees, they have managed to convince a further 6 to come on board. This still leaves Lidl and Superdrug, who may well be ... Read Full Story

Hi Everyone, This Is My First ...

Nov 30, 2016, 2 comments, 5 smiles Hi Everyone, This is my first post at Servicespace, I was encouraged to do so by a friend at Kindspring.org. Recently I had the opportunity to bring a short guided meditation session to our local Cub Scout pack, which I then decided to record and share online. It’s particularly suited to children, but feel free to enjoy it whatever age you are! Here is a link to the Youtube version. (Also uploaded it to Soundcloud, but that version has lost much of its quality somehow – if anyone has any idea why this should happen, I’d be grateful to hear from you.) 
