I'm joining Service Space because ... I want to change myself and once I do that , I can change others
A good day to me is when ... I feel grounded and connected with people
My hero in life is ...My mother! What a woman . She’s gone through such tough times and is so resilient
My favorite book is ...So many . Also this question reminds me that I have to start reading again
One thing I'm grateful for is ... There are so many .. but my daughter is the big one out of all them
Jul 20, 2019, 5 comments, 12 smiles The second Awakin Lahore circle took place today . What fun! Distributed smile cards at the end of the reading discussion session . Was wondering if they can be translated in Urdu so that the random acts of kindness are not just done fr a specific strata of our community . Three hours of bliss ! The combined energies of all the people were awesome during the second hour . Everyone opened up and shared personal experiences about waking up to life- so many common experiences . We’ re all different yet share such commonalities , such tribulations , such trials. That is also a learning lesson in the study of life - we’re all connected through certain experiences - we all are one . Food this time included a non veg dish - we love our meat and to be honest this time I took help and cooked one of the dishes myself from the 4 . Felt a bit guilty but this made arranging the gathering so easy fr me ! Again - learning about myself - about life : ) Thank you 🙏🏿 I think the smiles just reveal how fuzzy and warm the session was !
Jul 13, 2019, 3 smiles Just read something by Rumi which resonated so well with the entire ethos of ServiceSpace and what each of us needs to work towards : Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself. May God give us the power , strength and courage to change ourselves for the better . I guess I have already begun the journey ( difficult yet not impossible) of inner change by realising the aforementioned - that I need to change from within ; plant the seed of kindness, empathy, patience , tolerance and wait for the beautiful flower to grow . Again, it’s not easy because the Universe will test you in so many ways but people have tread this lofty path and been successful !
Jul 06, 2019, 2 comments, 18 smiles I hosted the first Awakin Lahore Circle this weekend. Wow! I have no words for how I felt. I remember being jittery and nervous about starting this circle , whether people would attend or not. What gave me strength to continue was Nipun’s email where he said even if I was the only participant, that would be enough. Surprisingly, there were 7 attendees. :) The one hour silent meditation surprisingly didn’t seem an hour long. I wanted to breathe more... let go more. The group discussion on the weekly reading garnered reflections of personal experiences from people who had never met each other. I think I went a bit overboard with the food -- 4 dishes out of which I cooked 3 -- given that I have an 8 month old; even one healthy salad would have sufficed. Hosting the event in general made me realise so much -- the need to ... Read Full Story
