Just the other day, as I was in an elevator I ran into an acquaintance of mine from work. She didn’t look so good and I asked her if she was ok.  She was not ok, she broke down crying and she started telling me about her life and how she’s had an extremely rough few months (she got recently divorced) in her personal life.  We started talking, and one thing lead to another --  I started telling her some bad jokes hoping to make her smile (instead I should have just gave her a dunganation bear hug – that would have done the trick) – and yet instead I started telling her about some life-changing affirmations I read about many years ago.  And then just two days ago, I read, on DailyGood’s site (thanks DG!), about 7 Practices to Cultivate Compassion.  Not that I knew it would help her on not, but I told her to go ahead and read it and practice some of the rituals and start off by especially paying attention to Dalai’s Lama’s morning ritual.  It’s only been two days, but today she came to me and thanked me for taking her to this weblink, but also the DailyGood’s site.  She said later on in the evening, she spent hours going through all the articles and the videos on the website. She told me that in two days, she’s already starting to feel better…she said that she just needed that spark, something that would get her out of her bed each and every day.  She said that she would read dailygood every day, and instead of thinking about all the things that didn’t go right, she was going to use this positive momentum and turn her life around for the positive.  She said that she’s not going to worry about what went wrong, but instead use her energy inside to develop herself and help others.
