May/June 2019 - London Gatherings

Following on from last month's Kindful Kids Circle, which you can read all about in this blog "Empathy Begins at Home", the next couple of months are filled with more to look forward to! In addition to weekly Awakin Circles, we'll be welcoming inspiring guests from India and California!

Nimo and the Jai Jagat family will be arriving from the Gandhi Ashram in India and you're invited to join a hands-on volunteering activity on June 15th and to watch their dance drama show on June 16th. A few days later, we'll welcome back Nipun Mehta the founder of ServiceSpace, for a few days filled with inspiration from June 22nd-24th. We look forward to seeing you at these upcoming gatherings!

Awakin Circles: Harrow, Pimlico, Mill Hill, Shoreditch

Each month, you're invited to join Awakin Circles at locations around London, where we meditate for the first hour, engage in a circle of sharing based on a reading, and conclude with a home-cooked vegetarian dinner together.

  • Weds, May 15th at 7:00pm (Pimlico, Central London)
  • Weds, May 22nd at 7:00pm (Mill Hill, North London)
  • Friday, May 31st at 7:15pm (Shoreditch, Central London)

To RSVP, visit Awakin London and use the drop-down box in the top right corner to select a date/location.

Events with Nimo & Jai Jagat Family: June 15/16 (both suitable for families with kids!)

Jai Jagat Show - Sun, June 16th @ 5pm (Central London): You're invited to attend an inspiring dance/drama show directed by our dear friend Nimo with 17 beautiful children from the slums of India, sharing a message of love. Watch the official trailer, learn about this epic journey and RSVP to attend the show, tickets are offered as a gift and children are most welcome! Questions? Email: jaijagatuk@gmail.com

Volunteer Activity - Sat, June 15th @ 10am (Edgware): Join a hands-on volunteer activity with Nimo and the Jai Jagat children! We plan to bring the values from the show to life by preparing rucksacks filled with useful items and lots of love for children from disadvantaged communities around the world. Families with children (including those who have come to Kindful Kids Circles previously) are especially encouraged to join in as this activity has been especially designed to engage children of all ages! Visit this event page for more info and to RSVP (one RSVP per adult, use the Family RSVP Link to sign-up kids without email addresses). Questions? Email: sip@shishukunj.co.uk.

Nipun Mehta Back in London: June 22nd-24th

As always, we're excited to welcome Nipun, the founder of ServiceSpace, in June and this time he'll also be joined by Jin Wei, a young Buddhist monk from Rev. Heng Sure's monastery in California. Last spring, Nipun's visit around Earth Day seeded inspiring ripples as we gathered for a one-day retreat at the Museum of Happines, "Soil, Soul, Society for a Happier World," a Circle of Sharing with Nipun and Satish Kumar and concluded with an Awakin Circle. Nipun was also invited to speak at the Happier World Conference and at a Creating the Future Conference, spreading ripples in the wider London community.

You're warmly invited to join these upcoming gatherings with Nipun during his visit -- click on the links below for more information and to RSVP to attend. As always, these gatherings usually fill up quickly, so please take a moment to RSVP early if you'd like to attend :)

We leave you with an inspiring commencement address Nipun shared last year when he was invited to speak at a graduation ceremony in the Phillipines: "Embrace the Grace."

With a bow of grace,

Trishna, Ani, Mita, Vicky, Shamash and Ewa :)
