One of our KindSpring members just posted a beautiful Smile Card story ...

Had a beautiful day today, met lots of lovely people! After church and a lovely coffee talking to everyone there I went for a walk and a visit to the local garden centre. I looked at all the beautiful trees and flowers, furniture and decoration. I decided to have some lunch and chose a warm tomato and basil soup, love my soups :-)

I often leave kind notes for the staff when I go out so I took out one of the Smile Cards I carry in my handbag and wrote on it "Delicious soup, thank you!" and left. I went to the farm shop next door and got some treats and lovely veggies and fruit. Then decided to sit for a while to wait for my taxi to go home.

There's a nice little corner close to the cafe with a small library so I enjoyed looking at some books. After a few minutes a young man with a chef apron walked by and when he saw me he said "thank you". For a moment I couldn't understand and must have looked very surprised as he said "you left us a lovely card, thank you very much". I guess they'd seen who'd had the soup! :-)

Not only that...after another 5 or 10 minutes someone else came and said "hello m'am, I want to thank you for the card". I was by then so happy that I couldn't believe it. He must have told her then that I was there and she came out of the kitchen!

It was all so funny and sweet. I know we should do it all from our hearts without expecting anything but when we do get a smile, a kiss, a hug, a thank you or anything of the sort it is so rewarding!!!! I'm so pleased to have made them happy-they were working hard on a Sunday after all- ... they made me very happy indeed :-)
