From Dr. Shariq and Dr. Neeraj are trying to make a base for zero degree thinking - if you know any one from any bay area university that's interested, feel free to reach out to them!

--------------

The Zero Degree Project aims to create an innovation ecosystem that fundamentally alters the way we implement human activity for its impact on climate change. We begin with a focus on food - growing, distributing and consuming food. Food is not only an integral part of our daily lives, but also the systems that produce and distribute food are an important contributor to climate change. We aspire to go beyond the current concept of safe and nutritiuous food that is expected to extend an individual human’s life, to one that can also extend human life on the planet. Is it possible to have a tomato on your dining table that not only extends your life, but also extends our planet’s capacity to sustain human life?

We are currently developing a farm-based field site, which along with the Stanford KGC on-campus lab will help agronomy practitioners to investigate Zero Degree food growing practices, entrepreneurs to start Zero Degree food ventures, and citizens to experience and learn Zero Degree practices. We are currently looking for interns who are deeply motivated to address climate change and are interested in working with us in realizing a Zero Degree innovation ecosystem. Interns need to be juniors or seniors for any discipline from any San Francisco Bay Area university. While there is no remuneration, interns will gain valuable experience in working with Stanford researchers to cultivate Zero Degree practices.

If you are interested in applying, please attend KGC open house and submit your application in person on May 31 from 12 to 2 pm at Nora Suppes Hall, 224 Panama Street, Stanford, CA 94305. Please rsvp to http://evite.me/788wMSSfRE by May 27.
