Open Volunteer Position: Community Weaver

Team Info:

KindSpring.orgTo encourage anonymous acts of kindness, we started a fun game of tag -- do a selfless act for someone, and leave a card behind telling them to pay it forward. A million smile cards have been shipped anonymously without any charge through our site, members have shared 20,000 kindness stories as a part of "SmileGroups." Our weekly e-newsletter with top picks of kindness stories has grown to over 80,000 subscribers in a short time.

Volunteer Role:

Community Weaver
The KindSpring kindness portal has a social networking component called Smile Groups, which enables members to anonymously share stories about acts of kindness (they use nicknames). The Community Weavers Team is made up of a handful of active Smile Groups members, who are super involved in sharing their own stories of kindness, adding smiles/comments to the stories that others share and sending out welcome notes with Karma Bucks to new members of Smile Groups to make them feel connected to the community.

More Context:

First part of the role will simply require being an active member of the Smile Groups community to understand, first-hand, what it’s all about :) Following that, the position will require 3-10 hours per week depending on your availability.
