Kapu Aloha: Celebrating Marshall Makala Kozo Hattori
Many of us were moved beyond words by the profound grace and authenticity with which Kozo embraced not only life, but also the dying process. His peaceful transition, surrounded by family, on March 1st has left us with a sense of irreplaceable loss, and also, deep gratitude for how his inspiring presence wove its way through our hearts and lives.

There have been multiple inquiries about a virtual gathering to celebrate Kozo's journey, and honor the unique gifts he brought into this world. While the final program is still emerging, we're delighted to have a confirmed date on hand!

Please Save the Date

Sunday, March 28th, 2 - 4pm (Pacific Time)

If you are able to join, please RSVP here, and we will be sure to send you the program and login details as we get closer to the date.

If you are feeling moved to make a specific offering during the memorial, please reach out anytime. In honor of Kozo's multifaceted spirit and his all-embracing humanity, any and all creative expressions are welcome! We will do our best to ensure there's room for everything that wants to be shared. In the meantime if there are photos or stories you'd like to share, his family would be thrilled to have you post them on the website created to honor his legacy.

And here's a short video that offers glimpses of Kozo's spirit of Kapu Aloha (sacred love), and his skateboarding tricks!
