Living in Mystery: Transforming Our Relationship to Uncertainty
Dear Friends,

Many of us were touched and transformed by the (Returning to the Ordinary) dialog Sue and Kozo hosted in May. Several people have reached out to inquire on how their journeys have unfolded since then -- and in response, these two lighthouses are hosting a follow-up circle this Sunday :)

Since the last conversation Sue and Kozo have encountered many twists and turns in the road. Along the way they have discovered new partners-in-health, new perspectives on well-being and they are integrating profound practices into their daily lives.

This Sunday's circle will include a dialog between the two of them on the gifts and nuances of "Living in Mystery". Whether or not you have experienced a serious medical diagnosis, uncertainty is something that is an integral part of the human experience. Sue and Kozo will speak to this from their own journeys and then invite others into an intimate dialog around how this relationship with the unknown is manifesting in their own lives, and what is being revealed in the process.

As with last time: Given the personal nature of the conversation this event is not open to the general public but should there be a special someone in your life whom you believe would deeply benefit from being part of the circle, please feel free to share this invitation with them.

Sue Cochrane survived a traumatic childhood to become a pioneering family court judge. For 18 years she strived to put the heart back into the body of the law. Her first stark cancer diagnosis came when her three adopted sons were little more than babies. Ten years after her initial diagnosis and treatment the cancer came back. It's been eight years since that second diagnosis, and Sue is still shining in our midst, a fact that can only be explained in the realm of the miraculous. Sue's way of being is firmly rooted in that realm.

Makala Kozo Hattori is the father of two young boys, a ServiceSpace volunteer, and the author of The Healing Grace of Cancer. He works with the Commonweal Institute, that for over 40 years has offered powerful healing circles, retreats and resources for people living with cancer (including Sue herself!). Five years ago Kozo was diagnosed and treated for cancer. Recently he learned the cancer has returned, and over the past six months he has embarked on a second journey of healing that touches deep truths of the human condition -- riddled as it is with poignant paradox and possibility.

If you'd like to join this special circle, please RSVP here and you'll be sent further details in advance of the call.
