As I was leaving the SSS (Super Soul Saturday) retreat at Ashish and Manal's place in New Jersey this past weekend, their youngest daughter (5) Kiki spontaneously gave me a couple flowers. I put one behind her ear (because, why not :)) and told her I'd keep the other one with me as I traveled back home. I kept it in my shirt pocket (which itself was also a spontaneous gift from the weekend! my goodness) and wondered if I'd have the opportunity to gift it forward on my sunset walk home from the train station. Couple blocks from home I was suddenly jumped from behind. It was a friend who lived in the neighborhood. :) We chatted for a bit, and then I felt moved to give her the flower, with the backstory. That night, I got a lovely picture in my inbox. Which I then asked Ashish and Manal to share with Kiki, so she knows how much her little offering was treasured.
