May 2021 - London Update

As the UK prepares for the next phase of "re-opening" and the spring sun shines down, we are reminded that even the coldest of winters and the darkest of years, too, shall pass and that change is the only constant. We hope you and yours are well and healthy and look forward to seeing you for in-person gatherings later this year when it's safe to resume them! In the mean time, as always, you're invited to join a collection of virtual gatherings offered here below -- hope to see you at one of them soon.

Awakin Circles: May 12, 19, 25

Each month, you're invited to join virtual Awakin Circles on Zoom, where we meditate and follow this up with a circle of sharing based on a reading.

  • Wednesday, May 12 at 7:00pm (hosted by Ani)
  • Wednesday, May 19 at 7:30pm (hosted by Mita)
  • Tuesday, May 25 at 7:45pm (hosted by Trishna)
To RSVP, visit Awakin London and use the drop-down box in the top right corner to select a date.

Immersions: Qigong, Rumi, Noble Friendship, Hospitality in Inhospitable Times & Wisdom of the Gut

Pods offer a unique peer learning environment to create social change and personal shifts, alongside a community. Sign-up for upcoming pods below hosted by our global team of ServiceSpace volunteers!
  • Wisdom Healing Qigong: The first round of this popular pod had over 300 participants globally and was a deeply transformative experience for the entire community. The team is back and offering a second round of this incredibly inspiring and practical 14-day workshop and you're invited to join in! You'll receive daily emails with information about practices making it very easy to follow along from wherever you are. Hope to see some of you in this gong, which Trishna plans to join again! :) (Starting May 14 for 2 weeks)
  • Wisdom of Rumi: A chance to dive deeper into Rumi's life, poetry and teachings for the modern world. Each day will offer a short poem from Rumi and related personal practices to embody the change; collectively, we will reflect and hope to co-create a shared field that ignites a "whole greater than the sum of the parts." (Starting May 15 for 1 week)
  • Noble Friendships: In an era of social networks and cheapening friendships, how do we recognize and cultivate deeper connections? Each day will include "head" readings and videos, "hands" practices, and "heart" reflections with optional calls for guided meditations and discussions. (Starts June 6 for 2 weeks)
Upcoming Interviews with Inspiring Guests:
  • Sat. May 8, 5pm UK - "Extending Hospitality Through Inhospitable Times" with Sheela Murthy: Join us in a fascinating and far-reaching conversation with this remarkable entrepreneur, attorney and philanthropist – a conversation about the meaning of home, extending hospitality to newcomers, overcoming childhood obstacles, and stories of immigrants. Underlying all is a remarkable love story and a heart of love.
  • Sat. May 15, 5pm UK - "Tapping Into the Wisdom of the Gut" with Dr. Emeran Mayer: With a unique combination of researcher, doctor, and Buddhist practitioner, Dr. Emeran Mayer has been leading the movement to “bring the brain back into medicine” for the past 40 years. His work at the David Geffen School of Medicine has illumined the mysterious connection between the mind and the gut, which Mayer understands to be the body's "second brain". “The gut contains wisdom,” Mayer says, and we’d do well to pay attention to it.

We hope to see you at an upcoming gathering soon!

With love and gratitude,

Trishna, Ani, Mita, Vicky and Ewa
