My Husband Wrote & Sent This ...

My husband wrote & sent this (see below) to several publications today, including The NY Times & the London Financial Times. He was deeply moved by learning about these two men & wondered why it wasn’t given more attention in the media, so he sat down & wrote this out to send. As he says, we need more media focus on the good.

“Pfizer and BioNTech have collaborated to take the lead in producing a coronavirus vaccine which may help the world overcome the pandemic. This is only because of globalization and immigration. The CEO of BioNTech, Ugur Sahin, emigrated from Turkey to Germany with his parents when he was 4 years old. His father worked in a Ford car factory. He was given the opportunity to study medicine and also earned a Ph.D at the University of Cologne. He is a Muslim. The CEO of Pfizer, Albert Bourla, was born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece. He earned a doctorate in biotechnology at the Aristotle University. Since then he has lived in seven different cities in four different countries. He is a Jew. A Turk and a Greek can work together. A Muslim and a Jew can work together. This cooperation redounds to the benefit of the entire human race. From his pulpit atop the Catholic Church Pope Francis has pointed the way for all of us with his latest encyclical, "Fratelli Tutti" (All Brothers). Let us be thankful and pray that the world will tread this path as One. “ 🙏
