Recently some of us assembled in Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh for a Ganga Gandhi Samanvay. Invitation read:

As Mahatma Gandhiji is not merely a human being but the ever flowing and timeless pursuit of truth and a beacon of light to all seekers, this unique and first ever Samanvay Retreat in the sacred space of the world famous Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh strives to allow us to take the auspicious occasion of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Ba (Kasturba Gandhiji) and Bapu (Mahatma Gandhiji) to reflect on how we can keep their example alive in our own lives. It strives to bring the confluence of Gandhian Principles together with the way of life and flow of spirituality on the holy banks of Mother Ganga, where for centuries sages, rishis and Yogis have done Tapsya/Sadhna, penance!

With morning walks, Yoga, sharing circles, deep reflections, sacred Ganga Aarti, Satsang and so much more we welcome you home to experience the transformation that is possible when we collectively commit to be of greater service to our nation and to the world whilst simultaneously connecting with a space of harmony between our mind, body and spirit. We welcome you to your Himalayan Home to this once in a lifetime experience.

While the retreat manifested in its unique way - connecting hearts within and beyond, on completion of the retreat, Anis, one of the participant shared her reflection:

Hosted in the heart of the holy Ganga, the Ganga Gandhi Samanvay Retreat seamlessly turned out to be my encounter with grace. A question that was seeded in the opening circle, became the essence of the retreat for me. Up until now, I could only cognitively understand the meaning of Maitri but the retreat allowed me to truly immerse myself in the experience of it. This co-created space in no time became a container to a wide variety of emotions that emerged from my exploration of self and others. Yet again, it got me in touch with what it is like to be unconditionally loved and accepted. While the process helped build deeper connections with self, it also enabled space for embracing diversity and for connecting hearts to hearts. Like Jayesh Bhai rightly said, “we often experienced moments of a retreat within a retreat.” The ones that draw you closer to one another and really allow you to experience the warmth and fuzziness of deep noble friendships.

Deep reflections and ripples of Ganga Gandhi Samanvay are flowing in the air, more to follow in subsequent posts.
