I wanted to share information on an event occurring September 23rd Monday 6-7.45 PM at the at the Cubberley Community Center (Room A6) in Palo Alto for two speakers from an organization I support, Green Olive Tours. I took a tour with them in Israel & Palestine in December last year and was very impressed with their approach to the issues there. The presenters at the event are Fred Schlomka and Mohammad Barakat, two of the ten Israeli and Palestinian Partners in the Green Olive Collective, a bi-national social enterprise that promotes democratic values and human rights through educational tours and volunteer programs. They will give a short presentation and then open up for questions and discussion. The duo will analyze the current situation on the ground in Israel/Palestine and the recent Bahrain 'Peace to Prosperity' conference and its aftermath. Fred and Mohammad will also provide some background on the Green Olive Collective along with its mission and current activities.
