A couple weeks ago I learned that the instructor of a class I'm taking is the parent of Waldorf school graduates, and so I naturally shared Pancho's commencement speech and moving tribute to his mother. Turned out that the instructor had just learned about ServiceSpace that very weekend when Nipun showed up as a guest speaker at the Center for Spiritual Living in San Jose.

To check out Nipun's talk, go to minute 30:30 of the video below.

What I loved about this talk was its framing and examples around the 'freshman', 'sophomore', 'junior', and 'senior' stages of giving practice. The final metaphor around the strength, resilience, and longevity of living bridges in Meghalaya was particularly motivating to give my own box of sweets to a neighbor who metaphorically has repeated smashed my car window.

Grateful for the ways in which my courageous compassion has been nurtured by the ecosystem.
