Dear friends, A small report from Vietnam.

Since we came back from Gandhi 3.0 retreat, Andrew and I decided to start Awakin circle in our home in Hoi An. So for the last month, every Sunday evening has been special. Andrew and I and our kids took turn to cook vegetarian food and decorated our house with flowers and candles. We invited families and friends to come over.

Last night reading was about give-back-to the Earth, and 6 people came and share beautiful stories about how they came to love the Earth deeply through gardening. Our gardening team is growing together with the Awakin circle.

Another lovely news was that our daughter, Clara Vy, decided to have a fundraising concert, instead of a birthday party this year. She and her friends put together a musical night last Saturday, 80 people came, and we all had a wonderful time enjoying music and friendship. Many gifts were given for the event: a local restaurant donated the venue and refreshment, local youth helped with sound system, a woman baked cookies to share at the event, and 8 kids from Clara's school practiced for 3 weeks before the concert. Clara and her friends raised 600 US dollars (which doubled their target) and they already planned how to use the money to support the local orphanage. Now other kids from Clara's school want to continue the tradition of "meaningful birthdays".

I will soon come back with news about "trash collecting birthday party" and "school gardening birthday". We are very happy.
