Thursday is World Kindness Day! World Kindness Day is celebrated Nov. 13 - the opening day of the first World Kindness Movement conference held in Tokyo in 1998, and the 35th anniversary of the Small Kindness Movement of Japan. The purpose of World Kindness Day is to look beyond ourselves, the boundaries of our country, our culture, race and religion and realize we are citizens of the world. Emphasis is placed on our commonalities as world citizens and the importance of focusing on what we have in common.
