We hosted an Awakin meditation last week, and the reading was the piece by Scott Morrison titled 'Nothing Else Matters'. We had some new people join us, after a few weeks of no one showing up. Their reflections on the peice were refreshing and eye opening.
It's been hit or miss with people coming for Awaken meditations. there are often many RSVPs and then the weather is good (which is a big deal for Ohioans) and no one shows up. What I learned from the people who did show up, and the reading was that it doesn't matter if people show up or not, what does matter is that I am ready to meditate and share space and time with others!

Congratulations on continuing to hold the space, in the spirit of "it doesn't matter if people show up or not, what does matter is that I am ready to meditate and share space and time with others!"
My wife Wendy and I have learned something similar in our experience with circles. Besides the new Half Moon Bay Awakin Circle, we've been hosting "Torah Circles" -- also aimed at building spiritual community -- at our home every month for 11 years.
Here's what we've learned: what's in our hands is only to prepare the space -- physical, emotional, spiritual. We see ourselves as inn-keepers. Who shows up each time, that part's in God's hands. If we keep doing our part, the people who are meant to be here will arrive.
Wishing you much joy and peace in your meditations, and the opportunity for sharing this that you are bringing to others!
