This evening, rather unusually, we still had one guy working on a few things at our flat until quite late, as we enter the final few weeks of finishing up our new space and make an effort to tie up loose ends. Unlike many of his colleagues, who are really friendly, make an effort to chat with us as they work around the house while we live here and are very respectful of our space, this fellow was always a bit different, a bit more distant and not quite as friendly or respectful of our home. As it was time for Sareena to head to bed, she did her customary goodnights to everyone, as she does every night. Before heading towards her room, she made one final stop -- she suddenly ran up to Graham and gave him a huge hug and said goodnight with a smile from ear to ear on her face, as he sat at the dining table working away on his laptop. She caught him totally off-guard with her love and the biggest smile emerged, as he wore a totally confused look on his face at what had just happened. As a Mom, of course it was so sweet to see Sareena share her love so freely with someone who she doesn't even know. But, it was also just awesome to see how Graham was totally transformed through his little gesture of kindness. So much to learn from by watching my kids just be themselves every day :)
