Awakin Circle @ Lincoln
Inspired by Awakin Circles started in Silicon Valley in 1999 and by the spirit of community, we gather on the first Wednesday of every month to sit in silence, share our stories and inspiration in circle (prompted by a short parable or reading sent in advance), and have a simple, home-cooked meal together that is prepared by the host. These gatherings have no teachers, and no set agendas or proposed beliefs -- they are simply a space to come together to listen to ourselves and to one another so a deeper wisdom may emerge. There is no cost to attend; it is a simple offering in the spirit of stillness and community.

Our format for the evening goes like this:

5:00PM
or
5:30PM
Please arrive promptly before either 5 PM or 5:30 PM for 60 minutes or 30 minutes (as you choose) of collective silence; it's unguided, without any music. For first-timers, this primer on meditation may be helpful. Contemplative prayer or other offerings in silence are also welcome.

6:00PM Short reading, followed by a circle of sharing of “aha” moments from everyday life for those who feel internally guided or inspired to speak. Please note that those who are moved to share are encouraged to do so; for those who prefer to simply listen and remain in silence (and pass on the opportunity to share aloud), that is completely fine.

6:45PM Home-cooked simple vegetarian meal.

To join, simply RSVP with your email address below and we'll email you all the logistical information a few days prior to the date.
