We are so delighted to share that
Nipun Mehta, founder of
Service Space, will be joining us as a guest speaker at our next Awakin Circle in Harrow! With each visit to London, Nipun brings with him more moving
stories from his journey to bring smiles to the world and stillness in his own heart -- you'll enjoy his latest talk on
Algorithms and Love from Wisdom Together, which offers insights into the creative tension between big data driven by algorithms to deep data driven by intuition! Together with Nipun, we are also really looking forward to welcoming Jamie Bristow, Director of the
Mindfulness Initiative, who will share stories from his unique experiences of introducing mindfulness to the UK parliament. It's going to be a beautiful evening and we'd love for you to join!
On Wednesday, September 27th, we plan to...
6.30PM |
Share an hour of collective silence. For first-timers, this primer on meditation may be helpful. |
7.30PM |
Circle of introduction/sharing; Nipun's and Jamie's reflections and stories from their personal service journeys; collective Q&A. |
8.45PM |
Home-cooked vegan dinner |
To join, simply RSVP with your email address below and we'll email you all the logistical information a few days prior to the date.
About Nipun...
At the age of 25,
Nipun Mehta quit his job to become a "full time volunteer." He is the founder of
ServiceSpace, an all volunteer-run organization using technology to inspire greater volunteerism. What started as an experiment with friends is now a global ecosystem of over 400,000 members who have delivered millions of dollars in service for free. Their projects include DailyGood, KarmaTube, KindSpring and KarmaKitchen -- and has garnered Dalai Lama's Unsung Hero of Compassion award and President Obama's appointment on a council to address poverty and inequality. Around the globe, Nipun has inspired many with stories of
giftivism and his walking
pilgrimage in India, while championing values like
generosity,
social change without money, and
humility. Ultimately, his mission statement reads: "My life is an attempt to bring smiles in the world and silence in my heart."
