Teen Awakin Call with Jin Chuan Shr and Jin Wei Shr!
ServiceSpace Summer 2021 Interns invite you to our third Teen Awakin Call -- with Jin Chuan Shr and Jin Wei Shr, two monks at the Berkeley Buddhist Monastery! Moderated and run by teens, we'll dive into a conversation with them about their monastic journey and look into their beliefs. The last 10-15 minutes of the call will be allocated for an open-mic Q&A for those listening in with us. Feel free to bring questions with you!

A Little look into these amazing people:

Jin Chuan:

Jin Chuan was ordained as a Buddhist monk in 2013.  His background started were at the end of high school in 1999, to the surprise of himself and his family, he realized his aspiration in life was to be a monk. Before leaving home, Jin Chuan graduated from Stanford with an M.A. in Religious Studies and a B.S. in Physics. After ordination, he became a DRBU (Dharma Realm Buddhist Univeristy) student and graduated from DRBU in 2016 with an M.A. in Buddhist Classics. Since then, he serves as an instructor, chaplain, and translator in DRBU, and has dedicated his life to service and his beliefs!

Jin Wei Shr:
Growing up in Poland, Marek Chodkiewicz heard about some Buddhist monks coming to town. When he volunteered to help with the event, he never imagined that a few years later, he would be ordained in 2015, he would take the precepts and become Chin Shien Shr. Since then, he works with the Berkeley Buddhist Monastery and has devoted his life towards monasticism.
