At last Wednesday's Awakin Circle in Santa Clara one person shared a story of seeing a double rainbow that was so amazingly beautiful that it filled her with joy that simply flowed out. In her excitement, she looked around her to share the experience only to find that no one else was paying attention to this spontaneous spectacle of nature.

I often find myself in similar situations. I am always noticing beautiful clouds, flowers, birds, leaves, sunsets, weeds, children, colors, pebbles and so much that fills me to the point of bursting with joyful excitement. Occasionally I will take a picture or share it later with someone far away in space and time.

Here is a sunset I caught yesterday. Maybe it'll bring you joy too. Simply paying attention to what brings me joy seems to bring me more of it. Perhaps attention and intention are somewhat neglected in our formal schooling and training, but I am discovering that it can be self-taught. When I notice what is joyful, my eyes find more of it. Attending to beauty, seems to create it. Here are a few other recent images from my walks.

Someone laid a heart on my path, and I found it by paying attention.
Grateful for your attention. May you also find what you attend to.
