*inspired by Gitanjali, with blessings and appreciation for our entire Awakin call team.

The mighty song of the tiny wren
Echoed volumes of its freedom sung
As the Awakin call with Gitanjali had barely begun.
Through my open window this USA Independence Day,
The sex workers lives of Calcutta were made more clear.
Young girls and women trapped and captured
Their songs starved for love, stifled from show.
Learning the give and receive of a caring sharing heart,
Gitanjali opened us all to the happiness that bubbles
When we follow our life's passionate song most humble.
Let loose our sense of home, wherever it may lead,
Reverberating volumes of compassion's loving seed.
Now, from the arbor as I write, the owls are hooting
Their collective calls and I reflect on the feather found
Just this morn from one of them, I'm sure.
Surrounded by the orbs of Light
Rounded and globed in a message transmuted
If I could only understand each being's true plight.
Meditating between the firework's boom
It comes to me that we all breathe
The songs of birds immeasurable;
Large and small, the Universe's messengers
Heard with an awakening of life's uncertain trill.
