Just got a wonderful note from a friend. Her daughter [18 yrs old] had learned about Karma Kitchen and took her mother and father to KK Sunday. It was another case of first-timers being blown away. But here's why I'm writing this. The father's son, Jesse, on his own has started a gift economy monetary system based on coins he makes himself. The coin is called a "datti"... It works a lot like a smile card. I don't know if anyone in SSp knows about it, but it seems a natural for some kind of connection to appear.
