Circle of sharing ...

Arathi: circle around "inconvenience you're grateful for"; heading west this week! :) Top video pick: Planet Walker
Birju: returned from family vacation -- 10-day meditation retreat with parents. :) Free Hugs video was the original KT video. To what extent do we host more activisty videos like Zietgiest?
Madhu: inspired by last retreat in Hindi, where everyone organically bowed to the circle. Favorite videos -- Hostel Holi and Sadhu Vaswani (trailer).
Meghna: reminded of Victor Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning. Been recently inspired by Just Breathe -- on kids and anger.
Nipun: circles everywhere from Biz to Michael Lerner; on KT, 120K shares and 365K views for Grateful that directly rippled to Empty Hands tour.
Nisha: feeling grateful for seed box; favorite KT video is by Thich Nhat Hanh on deep listening.
Pancho: connecting with elders, like Mark Dubois last week. My video pick: Milky Way Time Lapse.
Pavi: speaking to a lot of youth, and telling stories people are curious "how do you know all these people?" One on Jayeshbhai and Christian the Lion, and last days of Zach are my top KT video picks.
Richard: bunch of new conversations from Nancy Mellon to Ida Oberman. KT video on dirty-car art, Barrio de Paz, and of course, Dakota 38.
Somik: sitting on SSp cushion, feeling lot of blessings recently. Recently spoke about power of metrics and heart (instead of head) of DA. Two videos that inspired me: Birds of Paradise and Sacred Sands (which I'd like to nominate for KT) and part 1 of 5 (deepest one).
Viral: reflecting on the strength of not knowing; people often ask, "How do you find yourself at these intersections?" Who's doing is that? Favorite videos: Amo La Vida and Infinite Vision :)
Yoo-mi: felt a sense of calm and open-ness, seeing everyone's faces. Many videos influence behavior change in me (like plastics) and most recently it's been 7 habits of mindful eating.

Audrey (traveling) and Trishna (tending to Sareena) sent their fond hugs.

Yoo-mi spoke about KarmaTube ...

Site usage is strong: 1500+ videos on site, 7.5M page views last year (up 61% from previous year), life-time average of 316 comments per month (lower in last year).
Team needs to be built up: strong tech team, but need to strengthen editors and reviewers; also need to build syndication liaisons
Most pressing edge: do we include social-change videos made by corporations?
Recent innovation: worked with 8-12 years at a school to review videos (like Landfill Harmonic). Inspiring reviews. By the fourth, they got to action! :)

What we discussed in our open brainstorm ...

Pavi: 21-Day Video Challenge for different demographics?
Madhu: create list of KT-hosted videos, that can be shared more broadly via things like an offline DVD
Nisha: Target youth demographic -- like pre-loading Fuhu tablets with videos, and supporting value-based educators.
Richard: film festivals can use KT. What about Karmatube Film Festival? (Like Jehane Noujaim's Day of Film Ted wish.)
Birju: mobile stats? It works on mobile, but can we deepen mobile engagement? (See also Google changes.)
Arathi: Build curriculum around videos, like Global Oneness is now doing (and shared with Audrey and others recently).
Guri: explore multi-language subtitling? Would create many volunteer opportunities and we're seeing a demand for it (Kindness Challenge translated in 6 languages!) (Also explore closed caption)
Somik: think of metrics that drive action (views is often seen as vanity metric now a days)
Nipun: using SSp universal login now, we can create many-to-many possibilities around pledges, comments, videos, play-lists and more.
Madhu: we could invite all DG readers to do act of kindness and post a video, as a way to cross pollinate engagement

Closing by Guri: while in Indonesia, we interacted with some good hearted people who were doing our kind work but for money and/or fame. Made me grateful for what we do, and how long we've done it.
