From what started as a weekly call with two teenage summer interns, Awakin Calls keep on reaching newer and newer heights. :)
In a recent conversations, we realized that at least a dozen volunteers are involved in managing any particular call! Truly a community effort. As we have grown, it is also helpful for everyone to know the full process -- so here's the latest guide: 11 Step Process to Host an Awakin Call
As you will notice, the guide will reference various roles: Team Ladders (Nipun, Kanchan), Biographer (Preeta), Volunteer Coordinator (Deven), Speaker Coordinator (varies), Community Coordinator (Amit), Email Chief (Radha), and of course, our rotating crew of Host, Moderator, Social Media Anchor, Techie, Scribe, Blogger, Streamer and Guest. :)
All put together, we approximate that every call requires about 33 hours of volunteer time.

When I think of it ... so much goes in setting up the line up of speakers, and then communication and coordination and follow up to make every call a success.
What excites me the most is quality of seeds these calls are planting, and a unique opportunity to engage all compared to other initiatives.
I can easily think of about 5-7 calls where my engagement while doing social media tweeting, or hosting, or blogging ... the quality of the thought made such a lasting impact. For me, that is priceless - that is what I get from volunteering. I am one of those - if not volunteering and involved actively, then I am totally disconnected (there is no in between here for me... :) ...). So, Awakin calls are a blessing for me.
Smiles and gratitude, Deven
