A Joy Ride

We recently had a death in the family, and so we had to make a sudden trip from New York to London. After landing at my grandma's, the car driver I had was the same person (Ajay) I had this past summer, with whom I ended up having deep conversation about Gandhi and Vinoba. This time, the conversations were about Vivekananda and how he was blown away by all the ServiceSpace links I had sent him -- and in fact, he now frequently passed DG, KT, etc. links onto his friends and family. His sister, she said, was a non-vegetarian and read a DG article on respecting all life around us, and for the festival of Raksha Bandhan, she gave her brother (Ajay) the gift of giving up meat altogether! Even in his life, little changes have cropped up. For instance, he now signs his name as "Ajoy" instead of "Ajay", and I was joking with him that his cab ride should be called "A Joy Ride". :)

At the end, when I asked him for the fare, he said, "Amitbhai, how can I tell you such things? Your grandma and your wife's aunt have both fed me. You and your wife are like family. Whatever you offer from your heart will be just right!"
