Yesterday I heard a beautiful story of a friend I am staying with who is a medical doctor. On nights that he is on call, his team of residents still must spend all night on premises while he only needs to respond to emergencies. Typically, he gets the next day off after nights being on call. On the morning of those days that he has off, he rides his bike to the local bakery, gets a bunch of pastries, and greets the resident team early with treats of gratitude for their efforts. Small acts of kindness, I was so inspired!
